This northwestern African kingdom is known for its culture, language, cuisine, and storied attractions. A former French protectorate, Morroco is the fifth most economically active country in Africa. There is much to see, hear, taste, and do in Morocco, and none of it is confined to the kasbahs.

1.) Ait Benhaddou

This kasbah, or desert fortress, is located in the Draa Valley. Kasbahs were originally built to protect the people from the marauders and the invaders that wanted to take the area. If Ait Benhaddou should seem familiar to you, that is probably because it has been featured as the backdrop to several Hollywood movies.

2.) Hiking

Morocco’s varied terrain offers plenty of opportunities to trekkers who wish to see the country’s natural wonders on foot. Different types of tours are available, from go-it-alone hikes to trips arranged with the Moroccan National Tourist Office, to horseback rides through the Atlas Mountains. Overnight camping treks are also to be had, complete with guide and mules, so prepare for your camping gears if this is in your itinerary.

3.) Swimming

Swimming, diving, and bathing activities are available at several towns. These include El Jadida, Agadir, Safi, and Essaouira. To the north, the Mediterranean coast offers resorts like the one at Cabonegro where swimming and diving facilities are being developed extensively there, cashing in on the yearly influx of tourists and visitors.

4.) Atlas Mountains

Morocco’s mountain ranges are extensive and present opportunities to engage in several kinds of recreational activities. These activities include biking, nature tripping and bird-watching. White-water rafters are also served by the mountain rivers and is a fun way to spend a day with your loved one.

5.) Sahara

A large part of Morocco is in the Sahara, the world largest sandy desert. As such, tourists are offered two-fold opportunities when they visit the Sahara Desert. They can both experience riding on a camel and explore the vast expanse of the Sahara Desert at the same time, surely a wonderful opportunity.

6.) Jebel Toubkal

Ascents of this 4,000-meter-tall peak, the tallest in northern Africa, are popular with tourists. Trips usually start from the village of Imlil at the base of the mountain. Guides are essential if you want to go on this trip, and there are resting places available along the way for some needed breaks.

7.) Skiing

Even though it has the Sahara within its borders, Morocco also offers skiing activities in the Atlas Mountains. Skiing is available at Ouikaiden, Mischliffen, Mount Tidiquin, and at Ifrane. Ski in the morning and sleep in the desert at night, now, isn’t it a grand vacation?

8.) 4×4 tours

Visitors can also opt to explore the countryside with tours conducted on all-terrain vehicles. These usually incorporate Moroccan events such as feasts and have as destinations landmarks like gorges and dunes. You also get to pretend you are participating in the Paris-Dakar rally that passes yearly through the country, and this is surely something that any visitor would want to do.

9.) Shopping

No trip to Morocco is complete without at least one visit to a souk or marketplace. Souks abound in the cities, and the largest is located in Marrakech. You can purchase everything from basketry to musical instruments in one, but do not expect a quick transaction as every purchase is a slow, sociable affair.

10.) Djemaa el Fna

This piece of real estate in Marrakech is always alive. There’s always something of interest happening here, whether it’s acrobats performing, food sellers hawking their wares, or musicians playing. It’s a sight not to be missed and a chance that should be experienced.

The following are some of the places you must visit when holidaying in Mexico:

El Zocalo

This famous tourist spot is a plaza surrounded by a cathedral, coffee shops and has a rich historical and architectural value. The best time to enjoy the plaza is at night, when it’s surrounded with tourists and visitors, their to enjoy a band playing in the center. When on a holiday to Mexico, you can always enjoy a great evening by visiting the plaza and watching dancing and listen to music out in the open.

Palacio de Bellas Artes

This white structure of marble is another famous tourist spot in Mexico and is situated at one corner of Alameda Central. The Palacio also displays museums like Museo de la Arquitectura and Museo Del Palacio de Bellas Artes. With an art centre and a huge concert hall, the place is often surrounded by tourists and visitors waiting to experience the richness of sculptures, arts and paintings during their Mexican holiday. The museums also hold a collection of renowned artists like David Alfro Siqueiros, Rufino Tamayao and Diego Rivera. The glass curtain of the theater’s stage is another major attraction that draws large number of tourist and visitors to it.

Templo Mayor

A holiday in Mexico is not complete without a visit to the major temple of Aztecs which has a rich historical value to it. Built in the year 1375, this temple was later rebuilt and enlarged in different phases. The museum also has a remarkable museum, exhibiting artifacts or objects excavated from the original site and these relic objects also provide an outline to Aztec civilization. The stone art work is also a reason for those holidaying in Mexico to visit this tourist spot.

Guanajuato

When you go to London, the best time is during Summer, because there’s no snow and you will not feel chilly. When you land at Heathrow Airport you will have access to hire a taxi from there with a driver and he will get you to the very best places in London.

You can also take a taxi and go to other places that you wish to visit further afield. London is the most exciting city in the world, thanks to its 1000 years old history.

It has many gardens & museums for you to see and the first thing to do is visit Big Ben’s Tower and of course the London Eye by the Thames river which in itself has a really beautiful landscape. It is the longest river in England and measures 415 miles in length.

You can just relax and see the sights or go shopping and buy souvenirs from some of the best shops in the UK. Again London is the best city in the world both for shopping and for amazing tourist sites.

It has some of the nicest parks and gardens e.g. Hyde Park, Green Park, Battersea Park, Greenwich Park, Hampstead Park, Holland Park and many more.

Then you also have many museums to choose from, for example the Guards, Fashion & Textile, Bank of England, Museum of Garden History and plenty of others.

The concept of London is that it’s made up of tiny villages which complete the whole. Well illustrated by the famous North of London suburb of Hampstead Garden Suburbs.

Oxford Circus & Piccadilly Circus are great places to visit & they draw millions of visitors every single year. Piccadilly Circus is a rather an untidy place with lots of traffic. Otherwise it’s definitely the central hub of London’s West End and a very popular meeting place.

One more place where you must go to is The Palace of Westminster which is the crux of English Government (the Houses of Parliament which is it’s other title) is directly accountable to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Many Diplomats & Celebrities live in the St. John’s Wood area which is located on top of the West End and is a most beautiful residential area north of Baker Street.

To have a good look at the City of London try a Duck Tour on the river and the road since you will be conveyed in an amphibious vehicle ! and it is easily the best way to travel by road and also to cruise along the river Thames as well.

London is also famous for it’s very historic buildings such as Whitehall, Admiralty Arch, Queen Victoria Memorial, Wellington Arch, Bunhill Fields, Convent Garden and Duke of York’s Column and many more.

For shopping try Carnaby Street, Charing Cross Road, Knightsbridge, Mayfair, Kensington and Oxford Street.

Now you have your answer as to Why Visit London !

What Not To Bring Backpacking: Ten Things To Leave At Home

When setting off an extended backpacking trip for the first time, it’s common for people to bring far more than they need; the uncertainty of what the trip may bring can lead to a mentality of packing things “just in case”, or for comfort. To help you towards the way of travelling light, here’s a subjective and irreverent list of ten common backpacking items which should you should consider leaving in the wardrobe.

1. A Huge Backpack to rival the SAS/Navy Seals

Take a stroll down the Khao San Road in Bangkok and you’ll see wave after wave of fresh recruits arriving from overseas kitted out like Special Forces, tottering under the weight of bulging 70-80 litre capacity backpacks. Don’t do it to yourself! You really shouldn’t need a backpack bigger than 50 litres. Any more and you need to seriously reconsider the items you’re packing. Are they really necessary?

2. Jeans

It seems like a natural choice to throw a pair or two of jeans in your bag, but denim is not suited for life on the road by any means. Jeans are thick (making you hot in balmy climates), heavy and take an age to dry. You’re far better off with a pair of trousers/pants made from a lighter, quicker-drying fabric.

3. Sleeping Bag

As this is no longer the 1970s, virtually all hostels worldwide will provide you with adequate bedding for free. There is absolutely no need to bring a sleeping bag on your trip unless you are doing an awful lot of camping. Instead, consider bringing a cotton (or silk, if your budget stretches that far) sleep sheet, which will take up hardly any room at all in your pack and will be useful to separate you from the odd festering mattress you may have to lay your head on.

4. Hiking Boots

Unless you are walking around the world, leave the hiking boots at home. Big, clumpy and stinking, a pair of boots weighing down your bag will quickly become irksome, particularly when you’re in a sandals climate. You’re far better off hiring boots when you fancy doing some serious hiking, although a pair of sturdy trainers/sneakers will often suffice for “accessible” walks.

5. Laptop

Increasingly in dorm rooms worldwide there will be one or more travellers busily tapping away on their laptops. A laptop is a luxury item, and certainly not an essential item for backpacking, unless you require one for working en-route, so think seriously before bringing one on your trip. What might seem like a great idea at home may not be so genius on the road when it is stolen or broken.

6. SLR Camera

Hand-in-hand with a laptop on my list of no-nos is an SLR camera. You’d have to be seriously committed… to photography to bring an SLR. Heavy, bulky (especially if you bring along a selection of lenses) and prone to breaking or being pinched by shifty travellers, swallow your artistic pride and bring a crap point’n’shoot digital camera like the rest of us.

7. Enough Medical Supplies To Make Florence Nightingale Blush

One for the hypochondriacs. A compact, basic first aid kit is essential to bring with you, such as plasters, a small tube of anti-septic cream and so on. But don’t go overboard. Unless you are really going way off the beaten track, leave the sterile syringes at home and put your money into comprehensive emergency travel insurance instead.

8. A Pacsafe

Don’t know what a Pacsafe is? Good - keep it like that. Suffice to say, it is something your Mum would think would be a good idea. It’s not.

9. Mosquito Net

Mosquito bites are intensely annoying, and need to be taken seriously, as a little nip can be deadly if the blighter is a carrier of malaria. However, there are effective ways of protecting yourself without resorting to carting a mosquito net around (such as using anti-malarials, covering up at dawn/dusk and using DEET or natural repellents). Nets take up far too much space in your pack, and are not needed in most of the world. For the areas in which you may appreciate having one, such as particularly infested parts of Africa, pick one up locally if they are not supplied at your accommodation.

10. Guitar

Because there is a common consensus that people who travel with guitars are tossers.

Renowned throughout the world as the most romantic destination on the earth, Bora Bora is one of the most incredible islands in French Polynesia - a galaxy of 118 islands and atolls. An emerald-green island with a magnificent lagoon and bounded by offshore islets as well as reefs, Bora Bora is much favored for its fabulous tropical settings and mind blowing vistas.

In deed, Bora Bora is truly a tranquil, unspoiled paradise. No wonder why newly weds, honeymooners, couples, and celebrities from across the world come here to renew their marriage vows, rekindle their romantic feelings for each other, and celebrate important milestones in their life. Hence, Bora Bora has accommodation choices to cater to all preferences, such as upscale hotels and resorts, beautiful villas, and luxurious apartments.

However, no other options would be better than staying in an overwater bungalow in Bora Bora. In other words, overwater bungalows is the signature accommodation of the island, and is one of the specialties that draw tourists to this enchanting island. In deed, it is a must for honeymooners and newly weds taking a tour to the island.

As the name indicates, overwater bungalows, alternatively known as water villas, are residences positioned over sparkling waters of enchanting lagoon providing commanding views and ultimate privacy. It would be a delightful as well as a romantic experience for the couples to stay in a free-standing villa that has been built on stilts over the water.

Al though they look rustic from outside, overwater bungalows is perhaps the most gorgeous, luxurious, and romantic accommodation options available in French Polynesia. Surrounded by palm-fringed beaches, coral reefs, and magnificent vistas, overwater bungalows are replete with almost all facilities that are available in a high-end hotel or resort room.

Covering an area of about 1400 square foot, each of the overwater bungalows is inclusive of large relaxed bedroom, fully equipped kitchen, expansive living area, luxurious baths and toiletries, and private balcony, from where you can savor beautiful vistas of the surroundings including the towering Mt. Otemanu and beautiful Bora Bora lagoon.

Apart from these, many of the overwater bungalows consist of a large deck, which in turn is a great place to read your favorite book or to enjoy the extraordinary sights of the sunset. Since there are ladders from the deck, it enables you to easily slip down to lagoon and indulge in an array of activities such as swimming, snorkeling, and diving.

One of the features that set apart overwater bungalows is its glass floors, which allow you to see colorful marine life beneath and that too without ever getting wet. Another specialty of overwater bungalow is the way it serves the sumptuous breakfasts to its visitors. Mostly, breakfasts are delivered to guests through canoes by Polynesians dressed in traditional way.

Depending upon the tastes and requirements of guests, different types of overwater bungalows are available. Some resort allows guests to choose from two types of water villas such as ordinary overwater bungalows and deluxe overwater bungalows. An overwater bungalow would be complete with almost all the aforesaid facilities. On the other hand, a premium or a deluxe overwater bungalow is especially designed for tourists seeking both privacy and romance. A deluxe overwater bungalow renders the best views in the region, with an added advantage of being located in a quiet as well as tranquil spot.

Overwater bungalows are usually owned and maintained by a large resort group. In most cases, overwater bungalows are within close proximity to shore, thereby enabling guests to have easy access to the prime resort building, beaches, and almost all facilities in the area. They are clustered together, and are connected to the mainland through long plank pathways.

Water villas are extremely popular among newly weds and honeymooners. It would be of great demand, especially during the peak season from June to October. It is therefore advisable to make bookings in advance for water villas at least two or three months you are planning to take vacation to Bora Bora. A plethora of specialists are now in the scenario to help you make bookings in advance. Since majority of the resorts have their own websites with pictures of the bungalows and details regarding facilities within it, it enables tourists to make bookings according to their likes and preferences.

The Mediterranean is a wonderful choice for a vacation destination. There are so many things to see in this astonishing region that a long vacation is the best way to go. Of course, lengthy vacations can be expensive so if you want to get the best Mediterranean vacation for your money, you might consider a Mediterranean cruise.

Because there is so much to see in the Mediterranean, a cruise offers more flexibility in seeing more sights than would be available by traditional means of travel. Traveling by sea will allow you to go port to port and save valuable time that would be wasted if going over land. When it comes to vacations, time is money. You can spend a set amount on your cruise package and see all this region has to offer, instead of paying to travel there and then to go from country to country in order to see all the attractions.

In the Mediterranean, you can revisit history from atop the Acropolis in Athens, Greece, go to the house of the Virgin Mary, or Ephesus. The Mediterranean holds timeless treasures you have only read about it books. The heart of the world, the Mediterranean Sea is the soul of France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Turkey, Syria, Egypt, and many other countries. With over 2,000 islands, the only restriction you will have is time in visiting this region; other than that, there are limitless options. The most difficult part will be deciding where to go first.

Taking a cruise will not only save you time but it will save you money as well. On a Mediterranean cruise, you will not have to pay for additional food every time you take port, nor will you have to pay for additional lodging. You have your hotel with you everywhere you go! If you decide to stay onboard instead of venturing off the boat, you will also have a massive amount of entertainment at your fingertips, all at no extra charge.

On a Mediterranean cruise you can relax in comfort as you slowly cruise from port to port. While on board you can enjoy all the luxury of a first class cruise including first class food, recreational activities and more.
You can visit historical locations by day and take advantage of pampering and entertainment in the evenings and at night. On the other hand, you can take a day off from your excursions to relax and enjoy the amenities the cruise liner has to offer. With any luck, you will be able to take a long cruise to allow for enough time for all of the sightseeing, as well as take in the comfort and luxury of the ship.

Seeing the Mediterranean by cruise ship is a great way to see one of the worlds most attractive regions while saving some money at the same time. Cruises bundle everything you need in one simple package. Your means of travel, lodging, food, and drinks are all taken care of as you travel the Mediterranean. Not only is this more affordable, but it is less of headache, leaving you time to enjoy yourself and your surroundings.

French Polynesia is much famed across the globe as a South Sea Paradise, but the water surrounding the Bora Bora is incomparable even by the Tahitian values. Located about 255 km north-west of Tahiti and just about 50 minutes flight from Tahiti, the airport in Bora Bora is on a motu, from where you are required to take a boat to your accommodation place, which in turn is a great experience and makes you feel that you have truly landed on a paradise. Surrounded by a barrier reef, the island is noted for its incredible lagoon within which lie many small islets or motus.

A plenty of options are available to enjoy the neon-blue waters of Bora Bora. The majestic, tranquil beaches found here even surpass well-maintained pools. Hence, it is evident from this that Bora Bora provides superb options to experience a variety of activities, with its shimmering water filled with marine plant life and tropical fish. From parasailing and windsurfing to canoe and paddle boating, it is just a matter of naming it.

Of the activities that can be enjoyed in Bora Bora, perhaps the most popular is scuba diving. Its stunning lagoon boasts of huge manta ray. In deed, this makes it popular among the divers. However, marine life that can be seen in Bora Bora is not just Manta Rays, but beyond that and include such marine species as lemon sharks, gray sharks, turtles, moray eels, and schools of barracuda.

Some of the most popular diving sites in Bora Bora are Aito, Anau, Tapu, Muri Muri, Teavanui Pass, and Tupitipiti.

Snorkeling is another popular water activity that can be enjoyed in the island. Today, many of the resorts and hotels in the region provide excellent options for snorkeling. Coral Gardens on the southern tip of the Motu Roa is regarded as one of the best destinations in the island for enjoying snorkeling. Snorkeling would be a great experience for honeymooners and other vacationers staying in an overwater bungalow in the island.

Also, while at your stay at Bora Bora, enjoy such activities as deep sea fishing. A lot number of boat charters and other service providers are in the scenario for a great fishing experience. In most cases, they provide the expert services of guide who help you in catching a variety of fish species including Blue Marlin, Wahoo, Yellowfin Tuna, Jacks, Mahi Mahi, Skipjack Tuna, Trevally, and Barracuda. Al though, the climate is perfect year-round for fishing, the best time for this activity is between October through June. In order to catch big fish, the best time is from December to June, during which the water is warm.

Likewise, for unique experience, take lagoon excursions to enjoy the incredible sunsets by catamaran or through lagoon tours by outrigger canoe, kite surfing, or jet skiing. A not to miss activity in Bora Bora is the shark and manta ray feeding at the island’s superb lagoonarium. Other popular activities that can be enjoyed in the waters of Bora Bora are wind surfing, aqua safari, parasailing, swimming, beachcombing, and reef walking.

Apart from water activities, a myriad of other activities can also be enjoyed in the island, such as, 4×4 safaris, circle island tour, hiking, helicopter flightseeing, climbing, and a full day picnic on motus of the island. With a number of restaurants and eateries, dining options available in the island is simply sumptuous. Above all, Bora Bora has excellent choices for shopping, with outlets selling everything from much famed Tahitian black pearls to local arts and artifacts.

Commonly known as Mandai Zoo, “Singapore Zoo” was opened on the 23rd of June in 1973 with an initial investment of 9 million Singapore dollars. It is being preserved by Wildlife Reserves Singapore that also operates the “Jurong Bird Park” and the “Night Safari”.

The conception of the creation of the zoo was brought up by Public Utilities Board in 1969 and having hired consultants from many countries during the construction of two years it was opened with 270 animals of 72 species that were maintained by a staff of 130 people. By 1990, it was home for more than 1600 animals including over 160 species.

Now the zoo is operated by “open zoo” concept where the visitors are able to see the animals that are in spacious enclosures. The zoo spreads through 28 hectares and attracts more than 1.4 million visitors a year who come to observe the natural life of over 315 different animal species. Another feature of the attraction was established as the “Night Safari” with a secondary forest of 40 hectares. The other most interesting program featured in the zoo is “Breakfast with an Orangutan” which is the moment where the visitors get the opportunity to interact with the orangutans.

A fruitful consequence of efforts of the zoo in wildlife conservation is “The Wildlife Healthcare & Research Centre” which was opened in 2006 as a main center where most of animal research and rescue programs are conducted specially for threatened species. and another effective and beneficial program implemented in the zoo is “friends of the Zoo” which offers its members free entrance and rides for an entire year and free quarterly magazine “Wildlife wonders” delivered home.

Singapore Zoo also offers special rides, trams and horse rides which can be enjoyed at lower charges. Further more the zoo offers accessibility for even disabled people and small babies having offering some additional transportation modes providing even wheelchairs and strollers. More over visitors get enthralled by various kinds of events of the animals at the main three event venues of the zoo which are Pavilion-By-the-Lake, Forest Lodge and the Garden Pavilion. Other than that, the zoo also provide the possibility to hold weddings and birth day parties while getting use of its main cocktail spots such as Tiger Trek and Treetops Trail.

Apart from that, it is really easy to find top-class Singapore hotel accommodation facilities around the area including Millennium hotels Singapore. People who travel in the country gain many benefits specially during the season with a wide range of favorable hotels deals in Singapore hotels.

By 1956, the city of Los Angeles had outgrown the small Griffith Park Zoo. The citizens passed a $6.6 million bond measure to help build a new one and a 113-acre site in Griffith Park was chosen as the new location. In 1964 a private, nonprofit organization was created to support the new facility. The zoo then began raising money and acquiring animals

When the Los Angeles Zoo opened in 1966 it was the 4th zoo to serve the city. The Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association (GLAZA) had already graduated a class of trained, volunteer docents and had produced several issues of a quarterly magazine called Zoo View. Some 80,000 Angelenos attended the November opening of the Los Angeles Zoo (also in attendance was an alligator named Methuselah, who is still a resident of the zoo today).

In 1967 the zoo acquired 3 endangered Arabian Oryx for $75,000. The Los Angeles Zoo cooperated with the only other American zoo to house Oryx, the Phoenix Zoo, to successfully bred the gazelle-like animals, which were facing extinction in the wild. Today descendants of those animals have been reintroduced to the wild in Israel, and other descendants of that original L.A. Zoo herd live on at the zoo.

The Los Angeles Zoo’s 1st Beastly Ball was held in 1970. This safari-themed dinner-dance is an important fundraiser for the Zoo, but only the visitors get to eat; in the interest of health and safety, the L.A. Zoo was the 1st major zoo in the United States to prohibit visitors from feeding the animals, and maintains the policy today.

The Los Angeles Zoo became an accredited member of the American Zoo and Aquarium Association (AZA) in 1972. Just 2 years later Dr. Warren D. Thomas became Zoo Director.

Thomas assembled one of the world’s most respected animal collections during his 17-year tenure. The zoo acquired rare and endangered species, including the Sumatran Rhino, the Jentink’s and Zebra duikers, yellow-footed rock wallabies, giant elands, gerenuks, emperor tamarins, and bongos. The Andrew Norman Education Center, the ZooMobile, Wolf Woods and Monkey Island, were all built in the Thomas-era1970’s, as were new exhibits for gorillas, orangutans and flamingos,

In the 1980’s the Zoo became part of the new California Condor Recovery Program. In 1982 the Zoo built the extensive “condorminiums,” which are still considered among the finest and largest facilities in the condor recovery program. In1982 the Ahmanson Koala House was opened. Currently the Los Angeles Zoo the only zoo in the world to exhibit these nocturnal animals in a darkened setting.

Today Los Angeles Zoo is located in the heart of the 2nd-largest city in the United States. Nearly 11/2 million visitors visit the zoo every year to see one of the country’s biggest and best collection of animals. And with your wife and kids accompanying you, it can be an experience of a lifetime as this place provides you with all the fun and frolic you require from a single place. Go ahead! Hav a great time with you family at the LA Zoo.
