The Old Continent will always hold a big draw, and particularly when it comes to honeymoons. Europe is a very lively place that encompasses a wide variety of traditions, languages and sceneries. Below are a few locations that allow for romance and living it up.

Paris, France
The French Capital remains the favorite honeymoon choice for newlyweds, and rightfully so: Beautiful streets, monuments, culture, entertainment galore and everywhere wonderful cuisine. This European icon is so diverse. Couples delight in guided tours on an open excursion boat along the Seine, especially at night, to photograph the awe-inspiring cathedrals and markets Paris is revered for.

Montmartre, in the north of Paris, is a very lively neighborhood where you and your partner see the city at its most bustling and try the excellent cuisine its hundreds of bistros and restaurants have to offer. Night life is also very vibrant in this part of Paris, as we are reminded by the 1999 French film “Amelie”. Culture is inescapable, and don’t forget that the Louvre and Orsay show a wealth of artistic works in the most romantic of settings.

Venice, Italy
Venice is most certainly the world’s most preferred honeymoon spot: The bridges and waterways and the architecture in particular, which have received wide coverage in Hollywood movies are often enough to want to go there for a romantic voyage. There are, however, lots of different ways to get the most out of the city and its surroundings, perfect for a honeymoon.

Fine dining is definitely one of them, especially in breathtaking places like the Piazza di San Marco. Culture, whether it is art or architecture, is ever present in Venice, giving you freedom to either go for long walks or canal tours around the city’s famous neighborhoods, or venture for a deep cultural dive into several of the city’s myriad art galleries. Add a little shopping and it adds up to the ideal honeymoon place.

The Santorini Volcano, Greece
This archipelago glories in the awe-inspiring views and historical pull that is typically associated with Greece. The Santorini volcano, which was once thought to shelter the ruins of Atlantis, is a haven of inspiring Mediterranean sceneries and authentic Greek communities. Attractions abound in Santorini and can turn it into a memorable honeymoon.

Sandy beaches are a short walk or a bus ride away; be sure to stick around at least once so you don’t miss the magnificent sunset on the ocean or from your table on a deck. Archeological dig sites are also a big attraction, not to forget the volcano’s crater, which is still active and accessible to tourists. It is the ultimate Greek experience, and perhaps the most romantic spot on the Mediterranean coast.

Prague, Czech Republic
Centrally located in the Czech Republic, Prague commonly counts as Eastern Europe’s most beautiful citiy, both for its cultural background and its colorful lifestyle. The Old Town is without questions the city’s most popular section of the city; it has endured hundreds of years of diverse history and is peppered with landmarks like the Old Town Square and the Old Synagogue.

Prague provides a wide selection of cultural excursions. Some examples are the National Museum and the Museum of Decorative Arts. What also makes Prague special is a seldom found combination of old gothic and modern architecture, a very distinct setting that is extremely popular with travelers as a group and newlyweds in particular.

Whether you want to spend your holidays in Prague, sample the Prague nightlife or hold your stag or hen party, you really could not go wrong with a Prague weekend break.

Prague in Czech Republic is a beautiful city filled with culture & diversity and the Prague nightlife is legendary with music and movie stars frequenting for the fun and lifestyle. There are many nightclubs and bars around and some recommended places are Club Mecca, Karlovy Lazne, Duplex, Stonx, Zlaty Strom Bar & Club, Roxy Dance Club and Radost FX in Wenceslas Square, at the city’s centre.

Party the night away to Funky House, RnB, Hip Hop and whatever else takes your fancy, but be prepared to have fun and party the night away with people from across the world and enjoy the nightlife and party vibe of this wonderful city.

Eating out in Prague is a great experience and the standards are high with prices very good compared with the UK. Recommended are Club Mecca Restaurant, Radost FX’s vegetarian restaurant and for something special try Palffy Palace Restaurant

Hotels in Prague can cater for all styles, taste and budget and amongst all the options available is the Hotel Duo Prague which is a large four star hotel with several bars and restaurants that will satisfy most tastes.

Prague entertainment really is second to none. Whether you want to shopping, sightseeing, party the night away, go to a shooting range or even take a trip on the river, you will be guaranteed an amazing experience in this popular destination.

Getting there is easy and if you book early you can easily get a cheap flight to Prague. You can fly to Prague with British Airways, Easyjet, Expedia, Opodo and many more travel companies and you’ll discover why so many people come to this great European city.

Prague is also Europe’s strip-capital and if your into lap dancing and strip clubs there are some very classy clubs that have a strict no-touch policy which is great for stag or hen parties which are a common occurrence in Prague all year round.

The currency in Prague is the Czech Crown (czk). The Czech Republic should be joining the Euro zone in 2010.

The Euro is accepted in some hotels and restaurants, along with certain international shops. However, we recommend holding Czech Crowns, as the majority of establishments will only accept the local currency.

All in all Prague is a fantastic destination and no matter if you are on a stag party, a romantic trip or on a leisure holiday, there is something for everyone on a weekend break in Prague. Prague is a city that remains beautiful and breathtaking not only during the summer, but throughout all the year long.

After you see the main tourist attractions in Prague such as Charles Bridge, St Vitus Cathedral, Astronomical Clock on the Old Town Square you probably want to see more places but your tourist guide forgot to mention those. There are plenty of activities and places to see in Prague other than the main onces mentioned previously. I’m not going to rewrite tourist guides but I would like you to consider some which are not that well known or are sometimes forgotten.

St. James Church (Kostel Sv Jakuba) – Sunday mass

This chuch is near the Old Town Square, has a great acoustics which makes it one of the finest places for a classical music concerts. The Choral works and music during Sunday mass is a must. If you are visiting during colder days, make sure you dress warm. It gets rather cold inside. Also notice the desiccated human hand hanging to the right above the entrance. It is genuine.

Vyšehrad

This place is a bit out of the way so it’s not often visited but well worth the effort. It is situated close to the city center on a high rock above the river Vltava. It offers greate views over parts of Prague. Vyšehrad castle was build in 10th centur. Situated within the castle is the church of St.Peter and St.Paul. There are manicured gardens great for picnic. Not many places in Prague are as green and quiet. To get there just take the metro and then there is a nice walk for you.

Petřín Hill Observatory

The Petřín Hill Observatory is a copy of Paris’s Eiffel tower. It’s not much to look at but it will give you great panoramic views of Prague. Petřín Tower is located in Petřín Park which also has a mirror labyrinth.

Prague is a unique travel destination which has so much to offer its visitors. It should therefore come as no surprise that Prague is one of the most visited tourist destinations in Europe. The Czech capital offers history, culture, entertainment and excitement to both travelers and local residents.

Prague has become a favored destination for tourists from across the world. The capital city of the Czech Republic is dotted with world-class museums, historic chapels, bustling shopping districts and trendy nightclubs. It’s also a relatively easy city for travelers to navigate. There is some important Prague tourist information, though, that you need to know to make your trip to this European city a successful one.

The Sites Worth Gazing

The Charles Bridge at Prague is a host to many visitors all round the year. This bridge was completed and made public in 1400. It displays grotesque architecture and river views that keep the visitors engaged especially during the summer season. There is also the eminent Wenceslas Square hat is deemed to be the heart of Prague and that grounds some of the most wonderful restaurants, shops and pubs in Prague. The Old Town center is also a place worth visiting in Prague. The center has on parade some of the marvelous historical sites like the Old town Hall and the Astronomical clock where the visitors get to see the land from the 60 meter elevated tower.

Getting around in Prague is quite simple and convenient. Besides the natural beauty that the place is blessed with, the human technology does not score less. There are trams, metros and buses to explore the charismatic place.

Prague, the capital city of the Czech Republic is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. It is therefore important that you choose your Prague hotel well so that you can enjoy and soak in the ambience of this incredibly city.

What Does The City Offer You?

This city is a tourist’s delight. From outstanding architecture to museums and art galleries, historical monuments and of course soothing music and delicious cuisine, the city has it all. Castles, churches and cathedrals, monasteries, and the town square; each of them a ‘must see’.

One of the most popular sites on the sightseeing map of the city is the “Orloj”. This is an amazing clockwork on the town hall’s south tower. Apart from a rooster that crows, and moving figures, it also shows the position of the moon, sun and the constellations in the Zodiac.

How Do You Choose Your Hotel?

If you are a tourist in Prague, then you must choose your hotel in such a way that you can see most of these beautiful sites with ease. Prague has hotels that cater to every type of visitor, be it a business traveler or somebody on a holiday. For the tourist, there are hotels catering to all types of travelers, those seeking budget accommodations to those who wish to live in the lap of luxury.

You can find Prague hotels with traditional architecture as well as those with completely modern facades. There are hotels built in former palaces and hotels in 16th century buildings. If you are looking at an extended stay, you can even rent an apartment. Quality of accommodation available in hotels in the city are at par with the best in Europe.

What Is The Cuisine Like?

Restaurants in the city offer all types of cuisines. From fast food to Japanese sushi, you can get anything. There are of course many restaurants that offer authentic Czech cuisine. The country’s cuisine is similar to the countries surrounding it. Meat, particularly pork, beef and chicken are the most popular. Roast pork with Knedliky (boiled sliced dumplings) is a popular local dish. Fruit dumplings and kolache, a type of yeast pastry with various fillings, are common local sweets.

How Do You Book Your Prague Hotel?

Details of various hotels, the type of accommodation offered, location, rates and availability can be got from various online hotel sites. Some such sites also have special offers that can get you a room at discounted rates. You need to first shortlist the kind of hotel you are looking for in terms of budget. These are typically categorized in terms of a star rating. The site will then display a shortlist of Prague hotels for you.

There are also sites that have a comprehensive listing of restaurants in Prague. You can choose by price range or by cuisine. It is unlikely that you will find any world cuisine missing from the city restaurants. Whether it is Cuban, Indian, French or Italian cuisine you desire, you will certainly have many options to choose from.

You have almost certainly heard of Prague, one of Europe’s most famous and historic cities, but what about the rest of this small country in the heart of the continent?

Here are ten facts and observations to encourage a visit the Czech Republic, to help start your holiday planning and further research.

Old city: Prague is great for walking and soaking up the atmosphere – and if you travel midweek or off-season, it isn’t over-crowded. The medieval streets and squares are a showcase of architecture ranging from Gothic to Art Nouveau, and a trip across Charles Bridge to Prague Castle offers striking river views and lots of street entertainers.

Modern city: Prague has all the attractions you would expect in a European capital, including museums, concert halls, opera houses and a wide choice of bars and restaurants.

Hearty food: International food may have come to Prague and other major centres, but try typical dishes including roast pork and dumplings, and many varieties of sausage.

Have another beer: The Czechs are Europe’s greatest consumers of beer per head of population, with brands that have been exported or imitated around the world. The type of lager known as pils originates in the city of Pilsen, with Pilsner Urquell being one of the best-known brands.

Wine too: Czech wines are little known in the UK, but the Moravia region produces some fine whites.

Spas: The curative waters of the Czech Republic have been known and exploited for centuries, and now there is strong emphasis on beauty therapies and wellness treatments as well as taking the cure. The Western Bohemia spa towns of Karlovy Vary and Marianske Lazne are also elegant places for a few days’ relaxation and exploring the surrounding countryside.

Go golf: Golf has developed rapidly over the last decade and there are now around 80 courses to choose from. Royal Golf Club Marianske Lazne is one of the best.

Boutique style: Large, impersonal hotels are now very much in the minority, while boutique hotels are booming. Chateau-style rural hotels are also growing.

World Heritage: Twelve sites are recognised by UNESCO for their cultural significance, only one of which is in Prague. The historical centre of Cesky Krumlov, in Southern Bohemia, makes a memorable trip.

Beyond the borders: The Czech Republic shares frontiers with Austria, Germany, Poland and Slovakia, all of which are EU members. It’s easy to cross borders to discover more of Central Europe.

The Czech Republic is a small country with a big heart, which has been transformed over the last 15 years into one of the most welcoming and accessible countries in Europe.

With availability of cheap no-frills flights to the Czech Republic from all over Europe, holidays in the Czech Republic remain affordable and a great alternative to the more traditional European holiday centres

In recent years Prague has become one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe. Prague’s popularity has increased so much largely to its adaptability, catering for all kinds of visitors from culture vultures to stag do’s! A number of historic castles and cathedrals combined with a large number of pubs are the main reasons why so many people are drawn to this wonderful city.

Travelling to Prague is very easy with flights regularly travelling to the Ruzyni city airport (about 20km from Prague city centre) from most major European cities and most of the time at quite a low price. Once landed in the Czech Republic you should have no problems getting travel to Prague or around the city with a number of travel options operating regularly from buses, trains, trams and taxis. All travel as well as any eating out and excursions can all be done at a low cost due to the weakness of the Czech currency, with £1 equalling around 29.70 Czech Republic Koruny. This is another major reason for Prague’s increased popularity as a holiday destination. For the visiting culture vultures Prague Castle is the largest ancient castle in the world. Constructed in the 9th century the grand castle is the most visited site in Prague and well worth it. For the visitors looking to do some serious drinking and partying many of the liveliest bars and pubs are situated in and around the Old Town square. Within this vibrant area there are a number of bars for all types from American cocktail bars, Irish pubs and traditional Czech bars where the party continues until around 6am!

If you are looking into going to Prague you should organise transport, accommodation and flights to Prague. Getting cheap flights to Prague can save you money before you depart on your travels so comparing flights to Prague is well worth doing.

Castles, kings, queens, prince, and princesses – these are some marvels that continuous to play significant elemental roles that inspire stories of gallantry, valor, love, and romance. Undeniably, one of the most inspiring adventures that one could have is a visit to a place where the stories started – a trip to an actual castle. If you are planning to explore the real story behind the prevalent tales of knights, then you ought to put the Prague Castle on top of your list.

The Prague Castle is included in the list of the largest medieval castle complex that exists in Europe. It has been the ancient seat of Czech kings from generation to generation, throughout many ages. As of now, it not only stands as a witness to the history of the royalties and the constituents of the Czech Republic. Instead, it serves as one of the premier tourist destinations in Prague.

Without a doubt, what makes the Prague Castle a prime spot for architectural observations is its set of diverse elements that reflects the various points not only in the history of Czech but the various eras of architectural development as well. Throughout its years of existence, the building was subjected to several subsequent renovations after it has endured several damages brought about by very destructive wars and fires that haunted the entirety of the republic. In addition to the renovations made after the inevitable destructions to the structure, the various political forces that wanted to make an architectural contribution to the area also contributed a lot to the formation of a very intriguing mix of fortifications and structures to the place.

The first known structure that was built on the site of Prague Castle Complex was constructed in the ninth century. During the twelfth century, the original structure was replaced by a Romanesque palace. Two hundred years after, the palace was then rebuilt in the Gothic style during the time of Charles IV. It was also reconstructed by King Vladislav Jagiello in order to introduce a Neo Gothic style to the place. When the castle was again reconstructed during the 1920’s, an archeological site was then revealed. Unbelievably, despite World Wars and other disasters, the premises of the castle eventually survived and withstood the challenges to its architectural legend.

The Prague Castle complex consists of a cathedral, museums, art galleries, palaces, a basilica, and a monastery. The most prominent of which is the Saint Vitus Cathedral which is also the most identifiable landmark in the entire city. Also included in the list of notable sights in the area are the Golden Lane, the Lobkowicz Palace, and St. George’s Basilica. The basilica serves as a very popular Czech venue for those classical concerts that are usually held during early evenings.

These days, the Prague Castle complex serves as the seat of the President of the Czech Republic. It is considered as the center for both historical evolution and political power for the city and state. For tourists and locals alike, the changing of the guard at the front gates, which takes place every hour, still brings a surprising delight. During noon, the ceremony becomes more remarkable as it includes fanfare.
