Your holiday vacation begins right here. This is definitely a once in a life time vacation within a vacation. From one end of the beach to the other, you just know this is going to be the best time of your life. Stay here, stay there, whichever package you choose, you really can’t go wrong.

If you’re looking for a tropical rain forest get away, you’ve come to the right spot. The beautiful islands of St. Lucia have abundant mountains and two fully clad volcano peaks that come into view from the clear blue waters below it. This beautiful island has unblemished beauty and loved by many who come to visit each year.

This destination will often feature in Caribbean packages. Within many Caribbean packages the first stop will be in Barbados, the most famous island in the Caribbean. Travellers commonly spend 6 nights at locations such as Mango Bay. Located on the west coast of Barbados, St. James shows off beach front settings that will take your breathe away. The beaches go on and on forever. Well-known restaurants that stretch along the west coast and the vivacious nightlife of St. Lawrence’s Gap is yours to enjoy.

Your next perfect destination will be Antigua, where you will experience foreign landscapes, plenty of sports and activities to do all accompanied by a great climate and lush surroundings. 6 nights here at the St. James Club and you’ll be overwhelmed by the eye-catching beaches that surround this beautiful island. A friendly club atmosphere triumphs all over while the visiting yachts show off a sparkle of glamour. During the daytime, be lazy on the beach or by the pool. At night, take off to the club scene and mingle with the other guests.

Your final destination will take you to a place where you can enjoy the peace and quiet on a smaller island here in the Caribbean. Relax here for 3 nights on the serene island of Nevis – also known as the island that time forgot. This remarkable plantation is the family home of Fanny Nisbet. She was the beloved wife of naval hero, Admiral Horatio Nelson. This plantation is one of the top ten romantic Caribbean resorts in the world. Just one more walk on the beautiful beach before you head back to the beginning of where it all began. Enjoy the calm sounds of the ocean and feel the breeze from the ocean air on your face.

St Lucia is also known as the “Helen of the West Indies” as the island switched between British and French control so often it was likened to the mythical Helen of Troy.

St Lucia offers a good choice of yacht charter and includes bareboat yacht charter, luxury crewed yacht charter, skippered yacht charter, monohull and catamaran charter and both sail and motor yacht charter.

St Lucia was first visited by Europeans in about the year 1500 and first colonized successfully by France who signed a treaty with the native Caribs in 1660. Great Britain then took control of the island from 1663-1667 before going to war with France over it fourteen times. The British finally took complete control of the island in 1814. On February 22, 1979 St Lucia became an independent state of the Commonwealth of Nations. The island nation celebrates this every year with a public holiday.

St Lucia is a small, lush tropical island that is still relatively unknown. The twin Pitons soar over 200 feet from the sea and shelter the tropical rainforest below, they are located between Soufrière and Choiseul on the western side of the island. The diversity of white sand beaches and lush green mountainous terrain make the cruising ground of St Lucia a wonderful location for a yacht charter. St Lucia will enchants visitors with dramatic mountain scenery, tropical rain forests, waterfalls and secluded beaches. Further inland, the rain forests shelter wild orchids, giant ferns and birds of paradise. You can visit Soufriére, the world’s only drive-in volcano, or relax in the earth’s rejuvenating heat in the sulpher pools at Diamond Baths. Other tourist attractions include the Botanical Gardens and Pigeon Island National Park, which is home to Fort Rodney, an old British military base.

During the months of the summer winds in St Lucia prevail at 10 – 20 knots from the northeaSt The winter will see 15 – 20 knots generally from the eaSt The trade winds are consistent and make a yacht charter at anytime of the year a pleasure.

The major airport on St Lucia is Hewanora International. It has daily flights from London and weekly Dusseldorf and the USA via Miami. US Dollars and the Euro are used. Major credit cards may be accepted in hotels, restaurants and some shops. English is the official language and it is spoken widely throughout St Lucia

Marigot Bay offers a pristine and unspoiled landscape. You may recognize Marigot Bay from the 1960’s movie Dr. Doolittle. Although it has undergone significant changes since then, the beauty remains in tact. Marigot has 24/7 security and is a port of entry for the island. Located here are a first class resort and spa as well as many yacht charter companies. Opening onto the Caribbean sea, Marigot Bay is conveniently situated 20 minutes South of Castries, the Island’s Capital City, 45 minutes South of Pigeon Island National Park and 60 minutes North of the majestic Pitons.

Rodney Bay is a well protected lagoon and a good yacht anchorage. There are many opportunities for provisions, fuel and water, boat repairs and anything else a sailor could possible need. Even laundry drop-off service is available. Rodney Bay is also a customs checkpoint and the marina provides tie up for this purpose. The holding ground is not the best in the lagoon and many sailors have reported anchor dragging in the middle of the night. Some of the best beaches are located a just a short dinghy ride away. There is also a car rental agency for those who want to spend the day exploring interior St Lucia. Visit Pigeon Island National Park, which is home to Fort Rodney, an old British military base. Don’t miss the incredible Friday night “jump-up” at Gros Islet on Rodney Bay. The most popular local drink in St Lucia is Rum punch, also called “Rocket Fuel,” “Jungle Juice,” or “The Baby Maker.”

Vieux Fort is located in the most southern part of St Lucia. It is the second-largest town on the island and a popular anchorage for yacht charters. In recent years a new modern part of Vieux Fort has been erected, yet if you walk along Clark Street and its surrounding roads, you will still see what is known as “The Old Town”. On Fridays stroll through the open market where you can buy local goods such as fruits, ground provisions and spices. It also home to the largest fish market in St Lucia where you can buy some of the best and tastiest fish in the world, from coral fish to tuna.

One-way yacht charter options are available to Martinique, St Vincent and the Grenadines or Grenada. Check with your charter company for more details.

Diving: St Lucia’s warm clear waters and numerous spectacular reefs and marine life offer a perfect environment for both beginners and expert divers. Many hotels offer scuba diving facilities and snorkelling equipment and there are a number of independent dive centres offering short boat dives, night dives and a variety of scuba courses.

If you want to spend your summer holidays with your family in the Caribbean, then one option worth considering is a luxury holiday to St Lucia. St Lucia is famous for many great and unique things, the most mentionable among which are the magnificent waterfalls, coral reefs, and the honey coloured beaches. The water is turquoise and the beaches are a wonderful sight to behold.

The water sports and activities are truly enjoyable and interesting, and the nightlife and bars offer the great Caribbean experience. The waterfalls are picturesque, and the botanical gardens are also very interesting. In St Lucia, there is also a drive in volcano which is one of its kinds in the world. This drive in experience is truly amazing and is nothing like any other activities you have ever performed.

The natural beauty of St Lucia is unique, and there is an array of various views like the beautiful beaches, tropical rainforests, and the rough and rugged mountains. This stunning natural beauty is another thing that is unique to St Lucia. There are different packages offered at various hotels for the season so that you can experience St Lucia at its best.

Another one of a kind experience that you can enjoy with your family during your summer holiday is diving in the reefs.
Sometimes you need to look away from the big resorts on St Lucia for your honeymoon destination, so check out La Haut Plantation

A top honeymoon destination on St Lucia is a hard one to call because there is a lot of competition especially in the Soufriere area with the romantic Pitons. It is well worth checking out La Haut Plantation which gets rave reviews from guests, and has a great deal going for it, not the least of which are the stunning views.

It has a reputation as a great place, with outstanding staff who look after you really well. They are the kind of people who don’t ever seem to be troubled by requests and can never do too much for you.

Incredibly it manages to accomplish with some flair being a really top honeymoon destination, with being a very nice family vacation resort. Saying that resort isn’t probably the right description, for a hotel that is in the middle of a working plantation perched on a hillside, so the description could be better as an ideal family holiday hotel.

Whatever you choose to call it, the fact that it is half way up a mountain means the setting is quite stunning, well away from tourists, hustle and bustle, and yet within easy reach of the town of Soufriere, the Pitons, beaches, and other things to do and see. You will however require a hire car for your holiday due to the isolated nature of the property although there are other options worth thinking about if you don’t intend to explore.

The first is the shuttle that runs to Anse Chastanet every day at 10am coming back up to La Haut Plantation at 4pm. The hotel has two pools but if this is a family holiday, children will want to go to the beach. Anse Chastanet is a great beach, and well worth bringing your own snorkelling stuff. You’ll want to supply your own lunch because the beachside restaurants are expensive. There are good grocery shops in Soufriere so the best suggestion is to buy food for lunch if you don’t want extra expense. It is also great to mingle with the local people an opportunity denied to most people on a package holiday.

You don’t want to be walking anywhere outside the hotel, apart from Soufriere. Being up a steep hill, it’s no fun at all.

You can get a taxi through La Haut Plantation, he seems to be their tame personal taxi. If you want to go exploring, and you don’t want to hire a car, then you’ll find him great fun, and not difficult to come to a price if you want him for a full day.

La Haut Plantation is a lovely place altogether. If you are looking for peace and quiet so you can just relax, then it is perfect. It is an unrecognised but nevertheless top honeymoon destination for this reason. You will also see families here, although in terms of it being a family holiday hotel, it would really be for families with smaller children, because teenagers could well get bored in such a small place. Its position is really unsurpassed, and worth it for the views alone, never mind the excellent rooms, service, and food.

Looking for a Caribbean vacation Villa, then take a close look at Villa Giorgia on St Lucia

There is a lovely Caribbean Villa on St Lucia which you might well want to consider for a St Lucia vacation instead of an hotel this year. It is called Villa Giorgia, and it has five bedrooms, four bathrooms, and has some lovely West Indian architecture, making it a very attractive place to stay. It sits in well over an acre of parkland like grounds on the Cap Estate, and what you will get here is privacy and luxury, a two swimming pools!!. By the way one pool is large and the other is a splash pool, and what a sight they are at night when the lights were on at night.

There is a lot more to this lovely Caribbean Villa than privacy and luxury, because the whole shape of the house is unusual, and there doesn’t seem to be much of it at first sight, when in fact it is totally deceptively enormous. The colours are a cooling white and grey, and it is so well laid out inside it appears completely uncluttered.

The outside paving is terracotta, and one of the main features is the absolutely enormous verandah, absolutely ideal for chilling out with a glass of rum punch and a good book. Intersperse this with dipping in and out of the pools, and enjoying the grounds. All of this makes Villa Giorgia the perfect spot for the more than perfect St Lucia Holiday. A description that springs to mind because of the comfort is that it is a real home from home

What is included is breakfast and lunch every day apart from Sunday, for which you buy in the groceries and food. Francesca the housekeeper who also cooks divinely is there Monday through Saturday 8.30 am until 1.30pm. Shopping for supplies in the supermarkets at Rodney Bay is quick and easy.

Francesca has everything you want in a housekeeper, for whom nothing is too much trouble, and her smile is constant and is a joy to see. Whatever you do, get her to make a rum punch, they are just out of this world.

You’ll find everything you need here for a perfect St Lucia Holiday, and Villa Giorgia really is a Caribbean Villa you won’t want to leave even to explore the beautiful island that is St Lucia.

Having said that, do rent a car, because the villa is in the ideal position if that is what you want to do.

You’ll get all the advice you need from the team at the villa, and whilst that is their job they do it with smiles, and an openness that is a feature of the inhabitants of this glorious island.

You should if you decide to explore, go to Pigeon Island, visit the lovely beaches, and you will find a great selection of good restaurants around Rodney Bay. Go to the sulphur springs and coat yourself in the mud, go to the mineral baths at Diamond Falls, visit the Botanical Gardens, and the rainforest. One highlight not to be missed is visiting the dolphins, and have the experience of seeing them playing and leaping beside the boat.

There is much to see, do, take part in, always surrounded by smiling faces and friendliness, and then there is the lovely Villa Giorgia to return to. It must be classed as a top Caribbean Villa, although very low key. If you stay at the Villa Giorgia then you can be guaranteed a top St Lucia Vacation.

If you are looking for an affordable family vacation in a luxury hotel and resort then check out Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort.

The family vacation resort of Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort is situated on Labrelotte Bay reasonably close to the town of Castries, in fact about a 15 minute drive.

It sits on a forested hillside, covering in all about 60 acres, and has clusters of white villas climbing up the hill, so much so that if you are in one of the highest villas, you’ll be kept fit by the climb. This is an all suite villa hotel, and the villas all have private plunge pools.

This makes the Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort a great choice as a family vacation resort because of the sheer space in the accommodation. In fact the villas can easily become anything from one to four bedroomed.

Equally the privacy of the stylishly decorated villas makes it a great honeymoon resort too, and if not that a good choice for a romantic getaway, with the separate living and dining rooms plus full kitchen also increasing the options in the villas.

The whole place has a Mediterranean village feel to it with the brick paths, and the sun kissed hillside overlooking a very pretty bay and beach.

There is a huge choice of restaurants in the 219+ unit Windjammer Resort, and in fact for the size of the resort you will have more choice than anywhere else on St Lucia. There are in fact five restaurants including Papa Don an Italian Trattoria for the pizza and pasta fiends, then Jammer’s Restaurant and Bar is a steakhouse and Grill Bar, and the Dragonfly serves Asian and West Indian food. All beautifully prepared and presented. You can have dinner prepared and served in your villa, make your own meals, or eat in the restaurants. The chefs at the Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort are rated amongst the top in the Caribbean, and they are one of the reasons this place is rated a top Caribbean Family resort, plus the fact that only one restaurant doesn’t allow under twelve year olds in for dinner. Another of course is the facilities, which includes a children’s programme.

One strongly suggested option is to take the all inclusive vacation package if you like to drink alcohol. What is a very affordable family resort can become very unaffordable when you add a large drinks bill at the end.

There is little doubt that the Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort is a good quality luxury hotel and resort, with a high satisfaction ratio. What guests seem to like more than anything is the friendliness of the staff, the roominess of the villas, the plunge pools at the villas, the food, and the water sports.

If there were grumbles, then they were mostly minor, including only one of the restaurants did breakfast, and the steepness of the hill particularly with children after a day down at the beachfront There are shuttles, but not very often when you want one.

All in all as a family vacation resort the Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort does well. It is affordable, and the all inclusive option is a good one. It isn’t totally a luxury hotel and resort, but it has a pretty good try, and would be a good choice as a romantic honeymoon destination especially if you book one of the very private villas.

You don’t have to be on a beach to have a great holiday in St Lucia, check out the Antigua Yacht Club Marina Resort

A holiday in St Lucia doesn’t have to be spent on or around a beach, so the recent addition of the Antigua Yacht Club Marina Resort is well worth taking a look at. It has 20 rooms so it is small enough to call itself a boutique hotel, and it certainly sets out to be an exclusive hotel. Antigua Yacht Club Marina Resort sits on a hillside above the historic English Harbour, as well as being well situated insofar as restaurants, bars, shops and boutiques, and absolutely unbelievable yachts at anchor, are concerned.

The Antigua Yacht Club Marina Resort consists of 30 executive suites studio residences. They consist of 12 sea view studio apartments, 12 garden view studio apartments, and six one bedroom suites situated in a total of six buildings. It is also a 19 room hotel, and the rooms are extremely well equipped with all modern comforts including wireless broadband internet access for those addicts who can’t be torn away completely from Internet Explorer!! It can mind you be difficult to tear yourself away the dramatic views of the harbour from the suites.

You will find a health spa, a turkish steam bath, and there is a fully equipped fitness centre in this brand new hotel which was built as recently as 2006, which is so new it still smells slightly of paint.

The Antigua Yacht Club Marina Resort is the perfect place for the independent traveller, who wants to see more of Antigua that the inside and outside of a glitzy five star beachfront mausoleum. The kind of people who take this kind of holiday in Antigua will probably have an interest in sailing, and will almost certainly hire a car.

The hotel hosts the famous Antigua Sailing week, but it has a certain buzz to it all the time, with the arrival and departure of people staying for a couple of days before venturing back to sea in their yachts and gin palaces.

If a holiday in St Lucia means being able to chill out in high comfort then you are in the right place. Also if you enjoy a fragrant tropical garden, knowing a five minute taxi ride takes you to famous Pigeon Beach, and the equally famous rum punches at the Bumpkin Beach bar.

One of the really atmospheric parts of staying at the Antigua Yacht Club Marina Resort comes after dark, when somehow the yachts come alive, some people can be heard partying on the water, whilst others swell the crowds in the restaurants and bars, thus creating a totally different feel to the whole marina area, and the hotel as well.

Previous guests have all been very impressed with the very comfortable rooms, and the staff, and the feeling that although the Antigua Yacht Club Marina Resort is close to the action it is nevertheless somehow off the beaten path. The staff are very helpful if you ask them about best places to eat, and hang out in the evenings. They seem to have the delightful attitude of wanting to get for you whatever you need, and that kind of makes Antigua Yacht Club Marina Resort even more special for a slightly different holiday in St Lucia.

Looking for a great Couples resort on St Lucia, then you need to check out the Rendezvous Hotel St Lucia

When asking about a Couples Resort on St Lucia, the first name that you hear mentioned is that of the Rendezvous St Lucia. The real question about any Couples resort, is it the right type of place for you?

Many people feel that this type of vacation may not be for them, as it could have the sort of holiday camp, lets be active playing volleyball, music blaring all day, noisy bar life at night, so it might be interesting for you to discover what to expect at the Rendezcous Hotel St Lucia.

The beachfront Rendezvous Resort is not too far from Castries and the airport, and you will be collected by a somewhat ramshackle minivan, and the journey is somewhat bumpy. You need to realise that this is a relatively small resort for all inclusive with only 100 rooms, but it sits nicely in seven acres of lush tropical gardens on a two mile stretch of beautiful beach.

Try to book an Oceanfront Room, which is as inferred literally right on the beach. You will find it spacious and well equipped, with a huge bed, and the bathroom has one wall of glass which is rather fun, and a hammock on the balcony for those long leisurely hours with a book and a glass in hand, and your partner beside you singing in the wilderness!!

Reports indicate that the garden rooms are a lot smaller, and more subject to the noise of aircraft landing and taking off from the nearby airport.

The staff keep the room clean, and are totally unobtrusive, and you won’t find a television or a mini bar, the lack of a TV is good, but a mini bar not so good.

All Inclusive Couples Resorts generally don’t have a great reputation for their food, but here at the Rendezvous Resort you will find the food plentiful with a good variety. Breakfast Lunch and Dinner are generally taken at the Terrace Restaurant, buffet style, but it is possible to book fine a la Carte in the evenings at the Trysting Place, a small and very high quality restaurant, where you will eat some of the best food in the Caribbean.

In addition every afternoon there is ‘teatime’ where you can gorge on high quality tea, coffee, and sandwiches.

The best food of all is served at the beach BBQ.

There are a two or three of different bars at the Rendezvous Resort, and they all serve a great variety of drinks and cocktails, and brand names as well. Some of the cocktails are absolutely memorable if you can remember them afterwards. You will meet nice people in the bars and around the resort, and the good thing here is that whilst there is as many activities as you could ever want, and great enthusiasm from the staff and partakers, there is no real pressure on you to join in if you don’t want to.

At the end of the day the Rendezvous Resort is a well above average Couples Resort for St Lucia, and you will find it difficult to find fault. The clientèle is mainly British, and you can make friends or just enjoy each other’s company, after all isn’t that what a Couples Resort is for!
