Thailand really needs no introduction. Referred to as the golden land, it has a rich cultural background which has and still does, attract hoards of visitors to the country, making it one of the most popular countries in Southeast Asia. With its diverse landscape which includes white sandy beaches, along with its hospitable people and unique cuisine, the country attracts visitors from around the globe. Another feature that adds to the whole holiday experience is the ease with which a visitor can travel around as it is hassle free and cost effective to access buses and trains in Thailand.
1 – Bangkok – The most famous of Thailand’s cities is of course Bangkok, which is also the country’s capital city. Abundant with shopping centers, hotels, it also has the modern element of endless traffic. This, however, is not a deterrent, as Bangkok can be explored by walking and is also a very safe city, as it has the lowest crime rate in the world.
2 – Chiang Mai – Known as the “Rose of the North” due to the blossoms that flourish in the mountain atmosphere. It is a popular city with tourists because it is blessed with natural beauty and has many attractions on offer. Chiang Mai was the first Southeast Asian state to make the transition to rule by Thais from the Mon and Khmer culture domination.
3 – Phuket – The largest island in Thailand’s west coast it is surrounded by splendid beaches. It is a wonderful holiday destination for all and is especially popular with honeymooners. Phuket brings to mind a colourfulness that is reflected throughout the country, from its splendid beaches, to water sports, plentiful restaurants and natural resorts. It is no wonder Phuket is a popular tourist destination.
4 – Krabi – Offering pristine beaches and unspoiled islands, Krabi is a popular tourist destination, if not very well known. It offers national parks, smaller islands worth exploring, bird watching and many water based activities such as kayaking, snorkeling and sailing. It also has waterfalls and caves to explore, ideal for those who love trekking.
5 – Pattaya – It attracts thousands of tourists from the world over as it is one of Thailand’s foremost beach resorts. Visitors can enjoy water skiing, swimming, sunbathing, and trips to offshore coral islands or rent out water scooters and explore Pattaya bay. Offering a wide range of accommodation options, Pattaya is one of the best places, be it with family, friends or individually, to visit for a memorable holiday.
6 – Chiang Rai – It is a tourism gateway to Myanmar and Laos and attracts tourists because it is rich in natural attractions and historical sites. It is a beautiful vacation destination ideal for a relaxing getaway.
7 – Nong Khai – Situated along the Mekong River, Nong Khai is blessed with natural beauty. It is always has an abundance of holidaymakers as it has lots to offer any vacationer.
Any visit to Thailand, no matter which area you travel to, is bound to be an enjoyable experience. Tourists can indulge themselves with an active holiday or simply relax their cares away, which ever option they choose; a holiday in Thailand is an unforgettable experience.
